ON A PARCOURU LES C H E M I N S
- - - - - > WE OVERCAME THE P A T H S
The sun was high in the sky, already reaching its peak for the day. Which meant the temperature was at its peak as well. At least, Avery hoped it was. If this day was going to get any hotter, he would have to cut his little bonding day with Marco short. Every Saturday afternoon, the young frenchman would take his loyal French Mastiff dubbed Marco out for a nice walk in the park. But with the heat like this and Marco's dark coat, Avery had to be careful. The last thing he wanted was for Marco to become overheated or something like that. The man was so shy, his pets and students were practically all he had to speak with. Though, occasionally he would meet some one he liked well enough to try and come out around. Though, that usually ended in a disaster one way or another. He just wasn't much of a people person when it came to things outside of the classroom. But he didn't really seemed to mind all that much. In fact, he's learned to care less and less each time a romance failed. Though, it still stung each time. A shy, hopeless romantic that was in love with love itself. What a combination.
A small whine and a pawing at his leg broke him from his thoughts. Glancing down he noticed Marco had retrieved the small ball he had thrown. A soft smile curled his lips up as he bent over to pet the dog's large head while trying to take the ball from his mouth with the other. "Marco, lâche le ballon," he commanded softly in his flawless French as he tugged lightly at the tennis ball held firmly in the jaws of the dog. Doing as he said, Marco let go of the ball so Avery could throw it once more. "Bon chien," fingers lightly scratched behind the left ear of the chocolate brown mastiff as a reward for doing as he said. When he pulled his hand back, a happy bark gave the signal that Marco was ready to fetch the ball again.
Avery chuckled lightly, light eyes watching as Marco's tail wagged frantically behind him, the dark eyes of his mastiff trained on the ball as if it was a treat. "Veux-tu le balloon? Veux-tu le balloon? Do you want the ball?" he said this as if he were speaking to a baby - his baby -waving the ball from side to side. Another chuckle escaped him as Marco's head followed every single motion he made. "Aller chercher le balloon! Get the ball!" and with that, he threw the ball off into the distance again, watching his beloved dog run off to fetch it.
A soft sigh escaped him as an almost silence encased the air around him. It was calm now, a light breeze causing his hair to shift out of place slightly. Perfect. He tilted his head up toward the clear blue sky. Not a cloud in site. This made a ghost of a smile loom on his lips. In the distance he could hear children playing and other dogs bark. This worried him a little. Turning his head in the direction that he had thrown the ball, he saw Marco lazily making his way back, tennis ball in his mouth once again. The site of the mastiff practically prancing his way back to his master made the black haired man laugh a little. The droopy jowls and floppy ears bounced with each exaggerated step.
Crouching down, he patted his knees lightly, calling out to Marco in hopes of getting him to hurry up, "Viens ici, Marco! Good boy~!" he smiled wide, petting the dog he sat in front of Avery, rolling onto his back with his legs in the air, silently begging for a belly rub with the ball still clenched firmly in his mouth. Marco was probably Avery's best friend. Always there when he needed the loyal companion. Rewarding the dog for bringing the ball back once again, Avery sat and started to drag his hand up and down the dog's belly, repeatedly saying 'good boy' in his baby french voice. He truly adored Marco.
