Ring, ring. Ring, ring.Removing himself from his desk, the blonde eighteen year old walked over towards his bed. There, on one of his neatly smoothed out pillow, laid a silver phone that was causing the blasted ringing noise. It was annoying, honestly, and the need to cease the incessant tone was an immediate urge; no one wanted to hear the dull tone of a simple default ringtone going on for minutes on end. Who could have been calling him so many times in a row. How urgent did this person need him? What could they even possibly need him
for?
"Hello?" he answered irritably, picking up the mobile device with a delicate grasp and flipping it open. The voice on the other end? Well, not exactly the emergency he thought it would be; there were no people dying, no classmates in desperate need of notes, no girl wanting to ask him out, no relatives rushed to the hospital --
Just Mom, calling her beloved teenaged son to go and buy some groceries.
Lovely, wasn't it, when a mother called her son approximately twenty three times within the last five minutes to ask him to go and buy
groceries right in the middle of studying?
The words he spoke were obviously painted with empty fibs here and there. Kiseki, though a responsible adult already, had no intentions of stepping out of the house and go on his merry way to the supermarket. He would have done it immediately if asked, but it was summer and that meant
studying. The fall of which he would start university was coming soon, and that meant he would have to be prepared for the magnificent thing that people called college. A step into the world of mature adults required education and a least of common sense.
Kiseki had enough common sense in his well being, but it seemed like he definitely did not inherit them from his mother.
He sighed.
"Yes, mom. I know. Milk, bread, oranges, bana -- wait, no bananas? What? How could you say that? ...Oh, okay. Yes, I heard you. Good bye, and drive safely."Contemplating on what to do next, a list of the items needed to be bought and returned home was being processed and then checked at least two times. Kiseki turned his head, glancing to his textbook and various notebooks cluttered ontop of the desk's surface. Did he have time to push off the work for later or would he have to go and bother Kokoro about it...? After a moment of looking to his books, Kiseki motioned over towards his door and looked at the room across from his. He inspected for any sort of sound to come from behind that door -- any sort of sign that someone was there with him in this house.
But alas, efforts unfruitful, Kiseki found that he was home alone for the moment. Where had his sister gone? Off to find some ghosts or was she simply dawdling somewhere off in Tokyo? Frowning, he gave a long sigh and walked back to his desk, opening a drawer to take out a set of keys and shuffling them into his pockets. His feet then took him to the bed where he picked up his phone once more and pocketed it away with his keys.
Time to do some grocery shopping.
Leaving a note on the door for whoever would come back before him mentioning his absence, Kiseki stepped out of the perimeters of his quaint residence and took in the direction of the closest market. He sauntered leisurely, whistling a tune familiar to anyone who was anyone and waved a small hello to those who recognized him or simply took the good five seconds to act civily. Ah, Tokyo wasn't as bad as some of it's residents thought it was.
It didn't take long for him to pick up the necessary items and decide to take a short cut through the park in Ueno to traverse back home. It was peaceful; it wasn't often he was able to get out like this and be able to just walk around like this. His motivation to do well in school usually never allowed himself to go out and have fun; perhaps a bit too much, but it was all in order for him to become a teacher and lead a successful life. Of course, that's all anyone wanted nowadays. A successful life.
Too bad Kiseki didn't have any successful luck today.
He felt a weight against his leg and looked down. Something of a grey hue, light in weight though heavy enough for him to feel the contact between it and his jeans, laid there by the side of his foot. His brow wrinkled for a moment, his face showing the slightest bit of curiosity and looked around. Though he couldn't quite make it out, someone of the female gender had moved her foot in a swinging motion -- kicking another rock, in which then flew into his grocery bag.
Did that hit the eggs? Kiseki asked himself, already starting to meander on over to where this female had been standing, kicking rocks aimlessly. Surely she didn't mean to harm anyone, but it was good to know that those aimlessly kicked rocks had come in contact with him.
"Excuse me," he said politely, speaking up to catch the female's attention. She stood with a motorcycle, posing as if waiting impatiently for something.
He cleared his throat, adjusting the bags in his hand and started to speak once more.
"Did you kick those two rocks just now? One happened to hit my leg, not that I really mind, though the second did happen to come in tact, I think, with the eggs I bought and I would appreciate it if you could perhaps stop?"And that was his way of trying to tell someone to simply
stop kicking those stupid damn rocks around.
