even my unspoken feelings are quickly becoming words, Compasses were overrated; maps were overrated, too.
Forget both maps and compasses. They were totally useless—not even worth carrying around. Or so Asuka had thought when she sneaked out of her not-so-humble home. When the young woman had left her home, she had felt secure and happy; content. Now that she was in some unknown district, however, Asuka felt anything but security or happiness.
In fact, Asuka felt oddly out of place in whatever district she was in. There were many people in pairs and, well, groups of the same gender. While it wasn't unusual to see friends hanging out or just chilling, it was a bit unusual to see most of those pairs and groups get quite intimate with one another. Mind you, Asuka had nothing against homosexuality. In fact, she supported gay rights! It was just that, almost every one of those the groups or couples seemed to be quite intimate with one another. Could you really blame the girl for wondering where the hell she was? It wasn't as if you saw certain things like this everyday. Actually, it was pretty awkward and, well, strange.
Whenever Asuka tried to ask one of the couples or passerbys how to get to somewhere, most would just ignore her or she would stop midway in explaining her situation when she overheard part of their conversation. It was a very depressing and problematic situation that was undoubtedly her own fault. Damn it. Just damn it.
With an aggravated sigh unbecoming of a lady, Asuka combed through her hair in frustration. She hated being lost. It was just so frustrating not knowing where she was. It wasn't as if she was some little girl anymore. How could she have been so careless to not bring any directions? Asuka should have learned by now that she had an awful sense of direction. What did this say about herself as a person? Her parents would be disappointed in her—hell, she was disappointed in herself.
Wait, wait, wait! A lady shouldn't be thinking such negative thoughts! Didn't I give myself some sort of pep talk like this before? I never learn, do I? No negativity! Right. Think optimistic thoughts. Which Asuka was just about to do until a tall woman with a model-like figure began walking her way. For a moment, Asuka couldn't help but wonder if the woman's ancestor was a giraffe, but promptly tossed such thoughts away. The giraffe-woman leaned forward, her hands on her hips and smirked. "Hey there, sweetie. You look a lil' lost~"
Asuka's reaction to this was as slow as that of a seventy-year-old's. "...excuse me?" The giraffe-woman tilted her head backward and laughed. "Cute. You're just so cute~ C'mon, I'll take you somewhere great where you can let loose."
...was it just her, or was she getting hit on by a woman?

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Did this girl have no idea of patience and waiting? No. No she didn't. She probably thought it would be a grand idea to head off on her own, to venture out in the world to see what is was like to explore things by herself. She.. obviously didn't realize that the meeting place that he picked was swarmed with couples and a few creepers. (Well, nor did he but It wasn't his fault he hadn't been to this part of town for awhile.. alright okay, maybe it was.) But the matter on hand was the fact that he couldn't find the person he was supposed to be guiding all over Tokyo on a semi-regular basis.
He ran a hand through his black hair and turned a corner only to spot the familiar girl being hit on by no other then another girl. Now, normally, if it was two hot girls who were hitting on each other and well... things got 'out of hand' then yes, he would sit by and watch. What can you expect, he's a man? But, unfortunately for him only one of them was hot cute and the other one looked like someone had a child with a giraffe. It was interesting that such a thing could happen to person but it did, and that was why Giraffe woman was hitting on any thing that moved.
He had to move quick or his little 'date' would be swept away with the ugly thing and it wouldn't turn out good.
Being the dashing, knight in shining armor that he is, he quickly walked over towards Asuka and wrapped his arm around her waist, clearly indicating to the creature in front of them that she was his and that if you flirted with her some more he didn't care that you were a female he would knock knock you unconscious. "Hey Babe, I was looking for you everywhere, now, let's stop playing hide and go seek and go get something to eat." He mused, turning her quickly on her heals and heading towards the other direction.
Giraffe thing made an face that looked like an angry gapping fish, and stuttered out some words of 'h-hey... w-what... b-b-but... y-you... h-her... I SAW HER FIRST!' Daisuke just turned his head back toward the thing and stuck out his tongue and pulled down his eyelid in reply, she wasn't a very good person to flirt with if all she could do was stutter."Just keep walking like this till we turn the corner. We don't want to make a Giraffe mutant angry and have it charge out of it's natural habitat. It might go on a rampage and destroy all of Tokyo."He whispered quietly in Asuka's ear and then smiled again, "So how has Fumiyono-chan been? Besides getting lost in the 'Gay-District' of Shinjuku."

you've got your finger on the trigger; are you gonna shoot me down? She blinked. Once. Twice. How did this all happen exactly?
After recounting the events that lead her to her current situation, Asuka tried not to smack herself. Well, not in public anyways. Perhaps in a more secluded area with a brick wall where she could bash her head in to make up for her stupidity and carelessness. Maybe she should just pull away from Daisuke right now and find a suitable wall. Yes, that would be the correct way to handle things. Self harm. Answer to all problems in the world. Of course Asuka had resist the urge to do because, a) self harm never brought anyone any good, and b) she really didn't want to pull away from Daisuke. But it was so tempting. Must. Resist. Do not want brain damage. Or doctors.
So, to keep herself from causing possible injury to herself, Asuka took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled. Right. Remain calm. Peering at the young man by her side, Asuka frowned unhappily. "Well, I've been okay, I suppose. The colds have been attacking me left and right, though, so I haven't been able to go out that much, recently." It really was horrible staying inside her unbearable big home. At least she had many things to keep her occupied. However, they weren't nearly as interesting as the world outside. It was pretty much unknown; totally different from the world she was so used to. Which was exactly why she felt the need to explore it! Who wouldn't want to expl— Wait. Did he just say 'Gay-District'? "We're in the 'Gay-District'? There's actually a district completely dedicated to homosexuals?" This new world just kept getting more and more interesting. However, Asuka found herself wondering the reason why Daisuke had chosen Shinjuku-Ni Chrome to meet up. It took her a minute, but she finally understood! How could have been so oblivious? Daisuke was fairly handsome—she wasn't blind—and, well, nice enough. From what she had read from the various shoujo mangas the maids kept lying around in the bathroom, most men were not both handsome and nice. That just wasn't possible if she took into consideration the personalities of most of the male leads. There was only one possible answer. Asuka swirled around and pointed an accusing finger at Daisuke. "You're gay!" After she had said that, Asuka couldn't help but notice how such a statement could make her look like a pretty awful person. "N-Not that I have anything against homosexuals, Daisuke-san. I totally respect your sexual orientation," she said with a nod as she smiled. "To be honest, I've always wanted a homosexual guy friend who I could have sleepovers with! Like in that one western movie 'The Hot Chick'!" Once she had said that, Asuka once again felt the need to bash her head in with a metal pole or a brick wall. "Well, uh, that is if you'd want to have a sleepover. It's perfectly fine if you don't want to have a sleepover, though."She smiled sheepishly, despite being quite a bit disappointed at the sudden realization. He probably was gay. There was nothing she could do about it. The young woman was used to accepting things like this. All she could do was accept it and change the subject. After all, Asuka had no desire to let this disappointing relaization get her mood down.[/blockquote] NOTES! bless her poor naive soul. WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
A small amount of depression came across as Asuka twirled out of his grasp and out in front of him. What now? Another wild accusation of something random? It sounded like one. He wanted to go sit down in a corner and laugh his lungs out; him, gay? Oh jeez what was this girl thinking? Oh sure, he would love a sleepover but not in the fashion she was thinking. He wasn't one to sit around and talk of girly things and how that one guy looked fine...no. Just no. He collapsed the sides of his body and bent forward a bit, holding back the laughter as best to his ability on the joke that only he got so that he could finally calm down.
After regaining his composure he quickly went up and wrapped his arm around the girl and bent his face so close to hers they that their noses were almost touch. "Oh we can have a sleepover dear, it wouldn't be the kind that you are thinking but I won't deny the invitation any time ask." He mused, a devilish grin playing on his lips as he retracted back and chuckled. "Now, Fumiyono-chan, if I was gay... I would be oogling all the guys that are walking past us right now. Now instead, have you not noticed that I have my arm around your waist and was very close to kissing you?"
"No. I'm not gay Fumiyono-chan, I'm quite straight. Trust me on this," He let go of her waist then and faced the other direction, walking backwards as they headed towards an unknown location... to her at least. "Now, the reason I brought you here is because they have good food selections. There's a little cafe up ahead ran by a homosexual couple that has a good selection of sweets. I thought you'd like to know that.... so I told you to meet me there... but instead you went into what I like to call the 'red light district' of this area."
He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I was wrong. Not every girl likes sweets... hmmm... where else could we go..." Of course, he was lying, he was still going to take her there whether she wanted to go or not. Well... that seemed a little harsh, they could always go to a cafe in Shibuya, then maybe hit up the music store so he could grab a few CD's that he kinda wanted and maybe find out what she liked to listen to. Hmmm... decisions decisions. "So, where would you like to go? To the small Cafe or somewhere else?"[/blockquote][/blockquote] ---------------------------------------------------------------------TAGGED !? Azuka !? HOW MANY !? ----- !? baby, just shut your eyes; can't you feel the chemicals collide? "...huh?" That was her intelligent response to pretty much everything everything Daisuke had just said. She was dumbfounded, bewildered. So, it had all just been in her head? Oh, well, now she felt like even more of an idiot than she had originally. Apparently her idiocy had no boundaries whatsoever. A bright red began to spread over her face, as she listened to him talk. Where was a brick wall when she needed one? Or maybe a pole? Yes, a pole would be just perfect to knock some sense into her. While there were a few signs that told her that Daisuke was gay, there were many signs that also told her he was straight. Straight. Like a line, not a curly fry. He was as straight as a line. A line. Asuka made a note to drill that into her head later.
It took her a minute to realize he had stopped talking. Asuka had been occupied lamenting over her profound stupidity. "Ah, eh, it doesn't matter to me," she replied as she smiled, "I'll go wherever you go." The statement would've been more meaningful if Asuka hadn't said what she said next. "Well, not off a cliff or the roof of some building, though," Asuka stated as an afterthought. Lovers' suicides weren't her thing and she didn't want to die. After all, she still had many things left to do. Like find her estranged sister and beat her up with a blood bat— erm. Give her a good scolding. Violence was never a good way to go about solving problems no matter how good it felt. Especially familial problems. Civil arguements that involved facts, examples, and reasons were always the best way to resolve such dilemmas, in her opinion. Then again, coming up with facts, examples, and reasons were tedious.
Realizing that he was beginning to go on without her, Asuka fastened her pace so that she was beside him. "Besides, Yoshida-kun is supposed to be my guide, right? It's your responsiblitiy to lead me since I'm such a 'newbie'," she announced, a tentative, yet playful, smile on her face. And with that done and said, Asuka found her attention being brought away from Daisuke and toward a mime pantomiming along the sidewalk.
A mime! This world was just so wonderful, because really? A mime? Asuka had always wanted to see a mime ever since she had watched one pantomime on television. "...we can take a few detours, right? Just a few," Asuka spoke her eyes on the mime. However, it looked like the mime was probably going to go on their lunch break soon, it seemed. With a sigh, Asuka broke out of her reverie and turned her head to give Daisuke a sheepish smile. "Or maybe not." It was a bit disappointing, but what right did she have to go and and disturb the man from his lunch break just so he could amuse her? Oh well. Perhaps she would get a chance to see the mime perform on the way back from...wherever they were going.
And so, Asuka did what she did best. Change the subject. "Hey, Yoshida-kun, if we do have a sleepover someday maybe we should invite other people to come over!" Had he really expected her to listen back then when his face had been so close to her own?

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Daisuke chuckled at the small red that appeared on Asuka's face; how cute. She forgot that he was as straight as a line and though he bet he could play gay person pretty well... he didn't like the fact of a guy hitting on him.
He probably guessed she was mentally tormenting herself over that small fact and wanted to smash her head against something. It was a high guess... since the first time they met Asuka was banging her head against a light pole saying that she was stupid or something along those lines... if his memory was correct. This girl took things to literally, it was okay to make some mistakes, it wasn't like he was going to hang her over a boiling pot of lava because she screwed up his sexuality or something ridiculous. Let alone she went on a small tangent about not jumping off of a cliff or something, he sighed and patted her head, "Chill Fumiyono-chan, seriously. You'll end up getting stress lines on your pretty face from thinking things thru or torturing yourself."
"Yes! Your guide! Now here..." He motioned here with a frantic waving of his arms all around him for a few seconds then shoved them back into his pockets, "Is the Gay District, or Shinjuku ni-chrome. Back there was the red light district. Not a good place for people without someone else to be.. very bad. This area is somewhat safe, they have some good food places but other then that, I don't come here much." Yes, he did in fact say they were in an area that he basically knew very little about. He wasn't a genius, he can't know every area like the back of his hand.
Hmmm.. detours? His red eyes peered over at the mime that Asuka was staring at, which was currently on lunch break and he shrugged. He couldn't see no harm in detours, really he couldn't. It wasn't like he had reservations to a fancy restaurant that took months to get. "If you want.... We could go see if there is a circus in town. I'm sure there are a lot of mimes at a circus... though, again I don't think it's the right season for one."
Again, she changed the subject to something a bit interesting. The sleepover. Why yes, he would love to ah... sleepover at her house. Though there wouldn't be a lot of sleeping happening. "Fumiyono-chan, I didn't think you were like that. I hope you know what I was implying when I said sleepover but...." He tilted his head and looked up at the sky, still amazingly walking backwards with ease. "If you wanted a real sleepover, I suppose I could restrain myself and we could invite others to come over to join it." He said, smiling as he looked back at her.
He frankly didn't like that idea though, but it would make him feel just a bit bad if she was disappointed he didn't want to have a real sleepover with her and other people.

cinderella's on the bedroom floor; she's crushing on the guy at the liquor store, Asuka couldn't help but snort a bit. "Stress lines, huh? I wasn't aware you were such the expert on complexions, Yoshida-kun!" Well, at least he knew more than her, anyways. When it came down to anything that involved cosmetics, she will totally clueless. It was actually a bit sad; even so, Asuka refused to dwell on such thoughts! She wasn't being as positive and optimistic as she wanted to be.
The dark-haired young woman shook her head. "You're right, there probably isn't a circus in town right now," she agreed languidly, "Besides, you probably had somewhere in mind, right?" Oh well. Asuka didn't mind just letting him take the lead in this little...tour guide business. It didn't really matter where she went, after all. As long as it was fun and exciting; new and amazing, she'd be okay with it. "You are my guide, you know," Asuka reminded him for the second time, "Take charge. Be a man." Asuka said this all with a completely straight and serious face, before breaking into a large grin. Be a man. Pfffttt, Asuka had always wanted to say that ever since she had seen it on television.
After a moment, she realized one thing. How was he capable of walking backwards without running into anything? Whenever she attempted to do that, Asuka had always ended up walking into a metal pole or into another person, which, by the way, always ended up getting her into some kind of problematic situation. Once she had recapitulated the certain occasions she had actually ran into a pole or a person, Asuka couldn't help but want to ask Daisuke just how he did it. However, the dark-haired girl stopped herself when she realized that he had been saying something. "What does restraining yourself have to do with sleeping over?" Really, she just couldn't understand his thought process sometimes. "If you do end up sleeping over, maybe you can give this one maid a massage. She's been having some recent back aches because her old age, so I think a massage would help her out," Asuka said thoughtfully, her tone light and carefree.
And then Asuka had another bright idea. Or, well, an idea that she assumed was bright and totally logical. "You should give massages to my parents! I'm sure that they'd like that. They are getting older—not as old as the maid, though—so, I'm pretty sure they'd appreciate a good massage." She was grinning now (if one looked close enough, they would notice that the grin was a bit mischievous), obviously amused by the thought of Daisuke giving a massage to her parents. Asuka could definitely imagine this. This was what she loved about imagination. It was limitless; there were no boundaries whatsoever!
"So what do you say? If you give a massage to the old maid and my parents, I'll give you something in return! Like...a free photograph!" Then again, he may not want a photograph. Of course there were many substitutes that could replace a photograph. Maybe one of her old dolls? Or maybe not. Daisuke didn't look like the kind of person who enjoyed dolls. "If you don't want the photograph, just tell me what you want and I'll try to find it. If it's out of the country, I'll attempt to have it shipped to you in two weeks or so," Asuka voiced with a completely serious face.
